Such a lovely start to the week. My grandma is throwing my mom and dad an anniversary party. It was supposed to be her affair. Now, she's made my sister hostess, wants an itinerary as to what's going to go on, and is just being full of crap. My sister doesn't even want to come home. The only reason that she was going to come home was for this stupid party. She didn't want to come home this weekend in the first place. Now with gma hounding her about shit, she really doesn't want to come home.

I'm repeating myself and I don't care. I'm just trying to make myself feel better by blowing off some steam. Not sure it's working. The week of evil (if you are female, you will understand this) starts tomorrow, so this week is going to be bad enough without all of this bullshit. I have to go through photos, scan said photos, and put together a slide show of mom and dad's life starting with their marriage. Is this week from hell over yet?!

I want to go beat stuff up in Kingdom Hearts, but I don't have the room to myself anymore.

 I'm bored so I'm going to do an about me post. It will just be bullet point with random facts about me in no particular order.

~I love to cross stitch. I've completed 50+ (maybe even 100+, I haven't been keeping track) projects sized from 2x2 to 8x10 (maybe a couple bigger). I have several projects in the works sized 5x7 to 15x12. I have also made three patterns from scratch. They can be viewed at my deviantART account (
http://iruka-usako.deviantart.com/). I've also got some drawings there as well.

~I have no self confidence. I was the kid that was always picked on and put down and it left scars. I have a very hard time asking for things including help.

~I'm an emotional disaster. My moods shift often and easily. I used to be insanely quick to anger. I'm currently on an anti-depressant and it helps with my shifting moods, especially the anger. I cry very easily (don't ask me to watch RENT without crying. It won't happen). When I'm happy and in a a very good mood, I get very silly. Don't look at me like I'm insane, I am already well aware of this. Just let me be silly, it probably won't last long anyway.

~Reading. I have probably read 1,000+ different books. I used to go through 50+ books in a month easily. Mostly, I like to read fantasy (Tamora Pierce is my favourite). I used to really like to read romance, but that hasn't called to me lately. Lately, I don't read to many actual books. I have been pulled in by fan fiction. Some of the stuff I've read could easily qualify as books.

~I don't like to go to sleep. Once I am asleep, I don't like to wake up. I am completely unaware as to why this is.

~I prefer to be by myself. I'm really not a people person. I like the quiet.

~I don't talk much. I rarely feel like I have anything to say. I don't do anything, I don't go anywhere. What is there to talk about?

~I am currently looking for a job. Right now the only thing I am avoiding is working at a fast food place. I don't drive, so that narrows down where I can apply.

~Driving. I am uncomfortable behind the wheel of a vehicle. My judgement is poor so that doesn't help things. I also really don't like driving a van and that is currently the only type of vehicle that is available to me.

That is all I'm currently willing to divulge (read: I don't feel like analyzing myself anymore). I'll probably do another post similar to this one at a later date.

Story Starters

Okay. I've been wanting to write stuff lately, but have absolutely no inspiration.

What I'm asking for, is a starting sentence or a picture to base a story around.

My 8th grade English teacher had this assignment where he'd give a choice of 3 to 4 sentences or pictures to start a story. The class only had to write a page and it could be incomplete.

So send me your sentences and pics; you can send ideas if you want too.

RULES

1. If you want a specific fandom, say so. The fandoms that I know anything about is very slim. They include: Naruto, Final Fantasy VII, Kingdom Hearts, Digimon, Sailor Moon, Artemis Fowl, Tamora Pierce universes, Abarat. That's all of them (I think). I'm willing to look up others if that's what you really want.

2. Sentences are preferred.

I can't think of anything else at the moment.

Freak Out With Me!

Oh my God! *jumps up and down inside mind* I asked for something all on my own! And with almost no problems! I called a friend to make sure it was okay to go to lunch with her and some of our other friends. We even had a short conversation after! I'm so excited that I'm still jittery. I am so proud of myself. I actually have a reason to get up now.

Normally I would like 'sorry for freaking out', but I'm not sorry in the slightest. This is a big step towards being able to function normally (I'm still on a medication for depression, but it works). (If confused, see the entry entitled 'Help')

What kind of birthmark do you have? How does it look? If you don't have one already, what kind of birthmark would you like to have?

My birthmark is on the palm and back of my left hand. It is pinkish-reddish, splotchy and not completely connected. There's a little splotch almost in the centre of the back of my hand that's about an inch or so away from the spot close to my thumb. On my palm it starts at about my thumb and stops just short of the middle. I get asked what I did if someone doesn't already know that it's my birthmark. I used to call it a strawberry when I was little. The doctors said it would go away, but I'm 22 and it's most definitely still there.

This is so cool!!! Pilfered from lecanis.

I totally love this! Completely random, but Chiba is the same family name of Mamoru (Darien) from Sailor Moon.

So You Think You Can Dance

Normally I hate reality type shows, but I love So You Think You Can Dance. I thank my sister for getting me into it.

Last night's episode was awesome. There were only two pairs that I was really disappointed with; Chelsea/Thayne (a big part of that was the costumes they were in) and Susie/Marquis (more disappointed in Susie than Marquis). Everyone else did relatively good. My favourite of the night was Twitch and Kherington. They did a Viennese Waltz to Celine Dion's 'A New Day Has Come'. It was so beautiful.

The dance was choreographed by Jean Marc with his daughter in mind. She has some disease (big word that I don't remember) that caused her to lose all of her motor skills. She only really shows reaction to watching people move. It was absolutely stunning and Kherington and Twitch pulled it off marvelously.

The judges were really impressed by it too. Although Mia needed to shut up almost as soon as she started talking (not going to go into that). Mary normally freaks out when she sees something that she really likes and she was practically in tears. Nigel didn't have one bad thing to say (for once).

I also really, really liked Chelsie and Mark's Argentina Tango (smoking hot!), Courtney and Gev's Contemporary piece (reminded me of Dirty Dancing), and Katee and Joshua's Broadway routine (so fun and funny).

Help

I don't know what to do anymore.

I'm 22. I have no job, no license, no life. I'm scared of everything to do with interacting with people; including my family and friends (which I don't really feel I have anymore). I have a very hard time asking for anything. And by anything I mean anything. Asking for an application somewhere is nearly impossible for me. I've managed to do it once and I didn't even turn said application in. I'm on a medication that is supposed to help my depression and get me motivated. It doesn't do that. It holds my depression off enough so that I won't completely recede into my shell. In a bit over a month I won't be on it anymore because I will no longer have insurance. My life is so screwed over right now and I know that it's no one's fault but my own.

This is mostly me just rambling and making very little sense, but if anyone has any advice on what I might be able to do, I would appreciate hearing it.

I wish people would quit giving my mom shit.

She recently got a KIA Sedona and my dad's name is on all the paper work. She took it to the dealer to get an oil change and they were really nasty to her. They weren't going to let her do anything with it. Apparently her name supposed to be on the paperwork too, but it's not. We also have a Pontiac Montana. When we first got that, the people at the dealership were really nasty to her. When stuff needed fixed, they said they fixed, but it didn't stay fixed for very long. It seems that my mom is not to have a new car properly serviced without my dad going and 'yelling' at some people.

Before this crap started it was the pastor at my parent church. He's been there for 2 years (?). I think he's going to get asked to leave soon. Especially if he keeps pulling the shit he's been doing. I don't like him. I don't go to that church anymore. He and his wife try to be 'to friendly' with me. They are constantly asking to use my laptop to show slides and trying to get me to come to church there (I haven't liked/gone to that church {willingly} for 7 years, give or take). Pushing me to do things that I don't want to do is one of the easiest ways for me not to like you. Every now and then is okay, but all the time and I won't even speak to you.

I'm done venting for the time being.

Naruto Quiz

Which Naruto ninja are you most like?
created with QuizFarm.com
You scored as Kakashi

You're a bit of a mystery; no-one knows when you are smiling behind that mask. You generally appear laid back, have a bad habit of being late and don't seem to care much. However, you've got the sharpest mind. I never ever would want to get in a fight with you-you can be very dangerous when you want to.

Kakashi

75%
TenTen

69%
Hinata

63%
Iruka

63%
Shikamaru

63%
Sasuke

56%
Genma

44%
Neji

44%
Rock Lee

38%
Naruto

25%

This is only partially true. Kakashi=always late; me=almost always early (it's a curse from being in band. Marching band in particular; if you were on time, you were late). The 'sharpest mind' part depends on what the subject is.

Ten-Ten scored higher than Hinata (if I was depressed enough, I would explain that). Must've been the 'weapons are cool' question. Weapons are cool as long as they're not modern weaponry (i.e. guns, bombs, missiles, etc). Swords and the like are really nifty (personal opinion).

How many pair of shoes do you have? Out of those pairs, how many do you wear more than a few times a year?

View 501 Answers

Let's see, um... A black pair of tennis shoes that I use for doing things that are messy (i.e. splatter paint a truck). Two other pairs of tennis shoes (I think they might actually be more like running shoes); a pink pair and a beigey pair with a cute vine design on the side. I've been wearing the beigey pair lately. A pair of knee high black boots; I like wearing these when I can. A pair of ankle high winter boots that I stole from my mom. Three pairs of dress shoes that I haven't worn in quite a while (silver prom shoes, black shoes that I wore for concert band {do I still have those?}, black six inch heels). A pink pair of flip flops and black dressy type sandals for summer use only. A pair of slip on shoes. Combat boots (the actual thing). If there are more, I can't think of them. So, 12 pairs and 4 pair that I wear on a regular basis (depending on the season).

Will you give this to my daddy?

As a Company, Southwest Airlines is going to support 'Red Fridays.'

Last week I was in Atlanta , Georgia attending a conference. While I
was in the airport, returning home, I heard several people behind me
beginning to clap and cheer. I immediately turned around and witnessed
one of the greatest acts of patriotism I have ever seen.

Moving thru the terminal was a group of soldiers in their camos. As they
began heading to their gate, everyone (well almost everyone)was abruptly
to their feet with their hands waving and cheering.

When I saw the soldiers, probably 30-40 of them, being applauded and
cheered for, it hit me. I'm not alone. I'm not the only red-blooded
American who still loves this country and supports our troops and their
families.

Of course I immediately stopped and began clapping for these young
unsung heroes who are putting their lives on the line everyday for us so
we can go to school, work and home without fear or reprisal.

Just when I thought I could not be more proud of my country or of our
service men and women, a young girl, not more than 6 or 7 years old ran
up to one of the male soldiers. He kneeled down and said 'hi.'

The little girl then asked him if he would give something to her daddy
for her.

The young soldier, who didn't look any older than maybe 22 himself,
said he would try and what did she want to give to her daddy. Then
suddenly the little girl grabbed the neck of this soldier, gave him the
biggest hug she could muster and then kissed him on the cheek.

The mother of the little girl, who said her daughter's name was
Courtney, told the young soldier that her husband was a Marine and had
been in Iraq for 11 months now. As the mom was explaining how much her
daughter Courtney missed her father, the young soldier began to tear up.

When this temporarily single mom was done explaining her situation, all
of the soldiers huddled together for a brief second. Then one of the
other servicemen pulled out a military-looking walkie-talkie. They
started playing with the device and talking back and forth on it.

After about 10-15 seconds of this, the young soldier walked back over to
Courtney, bent down and said this to her, 'I spoke to your daddy and he
told me to give this to you.' He then hugged this little girl that he
had just met and gave her a kiss on the cheek. He finished by saying
'your daddy told me to tell you that he loves you more than anything and
he is coming home very soon.'

The mom at this point was crying almost uncontrollably and as the young
soldier stood to his feet, he saluted Courtney and her mom. I was
standing no more than 6 feet away from this entire event.

As the soldiers began to leave, heading towards their gate, people
resumed their applause. As I stood there applauding and looked around,
there were very few dry eyes, including my own. That young soldier in
one last act of selflessness, turned around and blew a kiss to Courtney
with a tear rolling down his cheek.

We need to remember everyday all of our soldiers and their families and
thank God for them and their sacrifices. At the end of the day, it's
good to be an American.

RED FRIDAYS ----- Very soon, you will see a great many people wearing
Red every Friday. The reason? Americans who support our troops used to
be called the 'silent majority'. We are no longer silent, and are
voicing our love for God, country and home in record breaking numbers.

We are not organized, boisterous or over-bearing.. We get no liberal
media coverage on TV, to reflect our message or our opinions. Many
Americans, like you, me and all our friends, simply want to recognize
that the vast majority of America supports our troops.

Our idea of showing solidarity and support for our troops with dignity
and respect starts this Friday -and continues each and every Friday
until the troops all come home, sending a deafening message that.. Every
red-blooded American who supports our men and women afar will wear
something red.

By word of mouth, press, TV -- let's make the United States on every
Friday a sea of red much like a homecoming football game in the
bleachers.

If every one of us who loves this country will share this with
acquaintances, co-workers, friends, and family. It will not be long
before the USA is covered in RED and it will let our troops know the
once 'silent' majority is on their side more than ever; certainly more
than the media lets on.

The first thing a soldier says when asked 'What can we do to make things better for you?' is...We need your support and your prayers.

Let's get the word out and lead with class and dignity, by example; and
wear something red every Friday.

~~~***~~~
I got this in an e-mail from my mom. I only have three people to send stuff to through e-mail so I decided to post it here.
What do you always carry with you?
My gold cross necklace. My dad brought it back from Turkey when I was in 5th or 6th grade. It's been off my neck maybe ten times in the 10 years or so that I've had it.
I just got an iPod. I'm pretty sure I'll end up taking it just about everywhere. Edit: I was right.
Hmm. The most common actual compliment I've recieved is about my hair being so long and pretty (others words not mine). I actually recieve something I refer to as a backwards compliment much more often. I'm 21 close to 22 and the average age I'm guessed is 15. Yeah, I know that if look younger than you are it's supposed to be a good thing. I'm sure I'll appreciate it later, but right now it really kinda sucks.
What is the most common compliment you receive?
